The following article dates back to March 1, 1942, six years after the death of Mitchell concerning the attackon Pearl Harbour by Japan.
During his life, Billy Mitchell had many predictions, many of which came true. His most famous prediction was that the Japanese were going to bomb Pearl Harbor from planes. He was so concerned that this was going to happen that he visited Japan in 1922. While in Japan he made a survey of Japanese aviation development and probable future programs. He preached that Japan was this nation's most important and deadliest enemy. He was correct as the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941.
Mitchell gained many medals in his life as an aviator pilot. Many were quite honorable. Some include, the Legion of Honor (France),Distinguished Service Cross, Distinguished Service Medal, and many more.
